Rajganj, 27th December: In view of the frequent harassment faced by e-rickshaw (Toto) drivers, several Toto drivers submitted a memorandum to Fulbari No. 2 Gram Panchayat Pradhan, on Monday.
It has been learned that around 200 Toto drivers staged a rally in front of the panchayat office for a while and then handed over the memorandum to the Pradhan. They demanded free movement of Toto till Noukaghat Medical, construction of a parking lot at Fulbari Bazaar, and an end to harassment by traffic police officials.
In this regard, a Toto driver said that there are about 200 Toto drivers in the Fulbari area. If Toto is detained for any reason, they have to go to the Chandmoni area or the Police Commissionerate office to retrieve their vehicle.
In this regard, Gram Panchayat Pradhan Dilip Roy said, “I have heard the demands of the drivers. I will talk to the haat authorities to resolve the problem.”
