Siliguri, 25th May: A Trinamool Congress party office in Kawakhali, on the outskirts of Siliguri, was demolished amid allegations that it had been constructed illegally on land belonging to the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA).
According to reports, the party office was built by TMC workers from Matigara block on SJDA land without proper authorization. The issue reportedly came to the attention of the administration following a change in the state’s political situation.
Subsequently, Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority issued a notice to the concerned party unit, directing that the structure be demolished within seven days.
Following the notice, local Trinamool Congress workers themselves carried out the demolition of the office. However, local party leaders declined to make any public statement in front of the media regarding the incident.
