Phansidewa, 05th August: Elected representatives of Phansidewa Panchayat Samiti staged a protest at the BDO office on Wednesday, raising several demands. The Panchayat Samiti Sabhapati, Sahakari Sabhapati and members expressed dissatisfaction over alleged delays in providing facilities and holding up development works.
The protesting members alleged that even after nearly a month of the board formation, a room has not been allotted to the Panchayat Samiti Sabhapati. They also alleged that no vehicle has been provided and development works have been stalled.
The Panchayat Samiti Sahakari Sabhapati alleged that the BDO, who is also the Executive Officer of the Panchayat Samiti, has stalled works by ignoring the Panchayat Act. The Sahakari Sabhapati claimed that several proposals related to the 15th Finance Commission have been submitted but were stopped by the BDO.
The Sahakari Sabhapati further alleged that the Sabhapati has not been provided with a room or vehicle. He said the matter has already been brought to the notice of the Sub-Divisional Officer and Additional District Magistrate.
The Sahakari Sabhapati also alleged that instead of providing a vehicle to the Sabhapati, a vehicle with a blue beacon is being used to transport the Joint BDO from his residence located around 120 km away.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate said that the matter has been asked to be looked into by the AEO of the Mahakuma Parishad and the Sub-Divisional Officer.
