Siliguri, 05th August: NJP Traffic Guard organised a road safety awareness programme in Siliguri as part of Road Safety Week. A special initiative was held near Fuleswari Bazaar, where free helmets were distributed among two-wheeler riders without helmets.
The programme was attended by DCP (Traffic) Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed, ACP Chandan Das, and other police personnel of NJP Traffic Guard.
Along with helmet distribution, the police also raised awareness among the public about road safety. Pedestrians and drivers were informed about the importance of following traffic rules, the necessity of wearing helmets, and measures to prevent accidents.
According to police sources, various social and awareness programmes are being organised in different areas every day during Road Safety Week to encourage people to follow traffic rules and strengthen road safety practices.
