Naxalbari, 05th August: Allegations have surfaced that a primary school in Naxalbari is not opening on time despite instructions from the education department. The incident has been reported from Chikthur Jote Primary School in Naxalbari, where locals alleged that the school opens after 11 am regularly.
Following complaints from parents and local residents, BJP leaders conducted a surprise visit to the school on Wednesday. During the visit, they alleged that the head teacher arrived at around 10:57 am, while other teachers reached the school at around 11:17 am.
An allegation was also raised that the head teacher was under the influence of alcohol during the visit, which sparked anger among parents and local residents.
Naxalbari BJP Mandal President Sadhan Chakraborty expressed concern over the alleged negligence of teachers. He stated that a verbal complaint has been lodged regarding the matter and demanded prompt action against those responsible.
Meanwhile, the head teacher admitted that the school was not opening on time but denied the allegation of being under the influence of alcohol. He stated that the school has only 12 students and that teachers are also engaged in census-related work apart from teaching, which has created difficulties.
