Siliguri, 07th November: After addressing the media at the Bagdogra Airport on Saturday, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista took to social media and accused the Trinamool of indulging in politics of divide and rule.
“One thing the people in Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars have come to realize is this, TMC has always indulged in the politics of divide and rule. Since 2013, they have divided the Gorkhas along caste lines and formed multiple caste specific development boards,” Bista wrote.
“They then divided Gorkhas along party lines by funding and supporting new political parties and now they are trying to create political divisions among the Gorkhas by pitching brothers against brothers, sisters against sisters and family against family. This is unhealthy politics.”
Bista went on to appeal to all Gorkhas to keep respective political differences aside and unite to achieve the collective dreams and goals.
“The only way we can overcome our differences is by focusing on the greater cause. We are all one family, related by blood and we owe it to our present and future generations – we need to unite and achieve our goals. I assure you all, I will give you the reason to smile and unite,” the MP added.
