TMC alleges three thousand monthly form distribution to women in Dabgram-Fulbari area, BJP worker detained

Siliguri, 19th April: Tension flared in the Thakur Nagar Jabarabhita area of the Dabgram-Fulbari Assembly constituency after allegations surfaced that BJP workers were distributing forms promising ₹3,000 per month to women if the party comes to power.

According to reports, BJP workers and supporters were allegedly going door-to-door asking women to fill out the forms. TMC workers protested against the activity, claiming it was an attempt to influence voters ahead of the elections.

Following the complaint, NJP police reached the spot and intervened. TMC alleged that the BJP was violating election rules by circulating forms linked to financial promises.

It was further alleged that BJP worker Kartik Kabiraj was distributing the forms and assuring women of ₹3,000 monthly benefits.

Acting on the complaint, police detained him and took him to the police station.

TMC’s Jai Hind Bahini block president Rajesh Ghosh stated that such activities during the election period are illegal and added that they had approached the authorities seeking action.
