Siliguri, 05th August: The Enforcement Branch (EB) of Siliguri Metropolitan Police conducted a raid at a pipe manufacturing factory in Dabgram Industrial Township and seized pipes allegedly manufactured using the name and logo of a company without permission. Pipes worth around ₹1.41 lakh were seized during the operation.
According to reports, representatives of Prince, a pipe manufacturing company, received a complaint that a factory located in Dabgram Industrial Township was allegedly manufacturing and selling pipes using the company’s name and logo without authorisation.
Following the complaint, company representatives lodged a written complaint with the Enforcement Branch of Siliguri Metropolitan Police. Based on the complaint, an EB team conducted a raid at the factory located near Uttar Kanya on Wednesday.
During the search, police recovered pipes bearing the Prince logo and dies used for pipe manufacturing from inside the factory. Officials asked the factory management to produce valid documents regarding the use of the company’s name and logo, but no such permission could be provided.
Following this, police seized all the pipes bearing the logo. The estimated market value of the seized pipes is around ₹1.41 lakh.
The Enforcement Branch of Siliguri Metropolitan Police has started an investigation into the matter.
