Siliguri, 15th March: Tigress ‘Sheela’ gave birth to five cubs in Siliguri’s Bengal Safari park on Thursday. Although the news was kept under wraps for some time, the park authorities announced the arrival of new members on Monday night.
It is to be noted that a year ago, Sheela gave birth to three cubs. Bringing the tiger population at Bengal Safari Park to a new high, the tigress gave birth to five cubs on March 10. All five cubs, as well as mother Sheela, are kept separately and are currently in healthy condition. Even the park attendants are not allowed to enter there. Officials are currently monitoring them through CCTV cameras. The number of Royal Bengal Tigers in the park has increased to 12.
