Siliguri, 24th January: Tight security measures have been taken at NJP station ahead of Republic Day. The station has been wrapped in extra security to avoid any untoward incident.
Additional CCTV cameras are being used to monitor various issues. Additional RPF and GRPF officials have been monitoring trains and passengers arriving at the station since Monday morning. Bags of passengers were searched with sniffer dogs.
IC of RPF Sanjeev Saha said that strict surveillance is being carried out before Republic Day. Additional CCTV cameras, sniffer dogs are being used to monitor the situation. However, there are several security shortcomings that are needed to be addressed as soon as possible.
