Three projects inaugurated in Ward No. 43 in Siliguri Municipal Corporation 

Siliguri, 21st May: Three projects in Prakash Nagar of Ward No. 43 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation were inaugurated by Siliguri’s Mayor Goutam Deb and SJDA Chairman Sourav Chakraborty on Saturday. On this occasion, SMC Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Ward Councilors, and others were also present. 


The three projects consisted of the inauguration of the road, sewerage system, and rooftop in Bhagat Singh Market in the ward. The estimated amount of the projects is said to be around Rs 2.5 crore. 


Addressing the gathering, SJDA Chairman Sourav Chakraborty stated that various development-oriented works have been started, following instructions of the state government, for the development of Siliguri. He further added that a new bus stand will be constructed near Noukaghat in Siliguri. Also, the main problem of parking in the city will also be solved.

The SJDA Chairman said that the board has started an initiative to construct about 422 flats with the help of NGOs for the accommodation for poverty-stricken people living in poorly built rented houses.
