Three injured in a BSF firing in Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar, 20th February: Three people have been severely injured in a BSF firing in Krishnapur, the Indo-Bangladesh frontier area of ​​Tufanganj. The injured have been identified as Jalil Miyan (55), Alina Bibi (35) and Zahar Ali Sheikh (40). All the injured are currently undergoing treatment at the Cooch Behar Government Medical College Hospital.


An atmosphere of tension has engulfed the area since the incident. Zahra Ali Sheikh alleged that the three individuals were farming on his land inside the cut wire after submitting his identity card to the BSF Jawans. During lunch, an intoxicated BSF Jawan allegedly started shooting at them. Upon receiving the news of the incident, the Tufanganj Police reached the spot and rushed the injured individuals to the hospital.

According to the information received from BSF sources, the Jawan, who shot them, has been suspended and the incident is currently being investigated.
