Siliguri, 16th May: A team of Special Operation Group and Bhaktinagar police, in a joint operation at Baneswar More, arrested three people with huge cache of brown sugar.
According to the information, the SOG had received a tip-off regarding drug smuggling. Following this, the SOG jointly with Bhaktinagar police launched an operation on Sunday and arrested three drug peddlers, namely Rabi Bishwakarma (32), Gadai Biswas (45) and Bijay Roy (35). 815 grams of brown sugar estimated to be worth crores of rupees were recovered from their possession.
Bhakti Nagar police registered a case under the NDPS Act and presented the three accused in the Jalpaiguri court today. Police are probing the whole matter.
