Siliguri, 29th March: A shocking incident of theft surfaced where several houses were looted on the same night an area under NJP police station. The frequent incidents of theft in the area has raised questions regarding the role of the police administration.
According to reports, late on Thursday night, miscreants executed theft in several residences near Baribhasa Flour Mill adjacent to Siliguri where public street lights were allegedly stolen. Additionally, mobile phones, cash, LPG gas cylinders, and other household items were stolen from the houses. The incident resulted in widespread panic in the area.
The locals alleged that similar incidents have occurred in the area in the past. They stated that a few youths of the area are allegedly carrying out the incidents in an inebriated state. They further accused the police administration of not initiating any action.
Upon receiving the news, local Panchayat members arrived at the spot. Later the officials of NJP police station also reached the site and initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
