Siliguri, 25th May: Following the protest staged by the workers in the morning, tension gripped Siliguri’s Bengal Safari Park premises. The park employees demonstrated in front of the gate demanding transfer of the park’s Director. Employees alleged that ever since Dawa Sherpa was appointed as the director, they have been facing numerous difficulties.

Tourists from far flung areas could not enter the park and many were spotted waiting outside the gate for a long time. Despite the long wait, the tourists returned disappointed and expressed their dismay. Meanwhile, Director Dawa Sherpa did not make any comment on the protests or allegations raised by the park personnel.
