Gayerkata, 24th May: A female tea worker was injured in a leopard attack at Gayerkata tea garden. The victim has been identified as Saraswati Biswas, resident of Gayerkata Jyoti Mayapalli.
Reportedly, this afternoon, Saraswati was plucking tea leaves in section 10 of the Hindupara division of the plantation, when the leopard jumped on her. She sustained injuries on her head and forehead and is undergoing treatment at Birpara Hospital.
On the other hand, on behalf of the plantation management, the forest department was asked to set up a cage on the plantation to get rid of further accidents.
