Students breach COVID-19 protocols to submit answer sheet in colleges

Siliguri, 01st October: The third or final year examinations of the colleges under North Bengal University commenced from today. Arrangements have been made for examinees to take their tests from their respective homes. The exam schedule has also been issued accordingly.

Furthermore, the students are supposed to visit the college for answer sheet submission or initiate the process online.

Amid this, a huge crowd was spotted in colleges including Siliguri College and Suryasen College today. While submitting the answer sheets, students were seen breaching COVID-19 protocols. Social distancing was not being maintained and several people were also spotted without masks.

Such an incident amid the ongoing pandemic has raised questions concerning the role of the college authorities. The guardians stated that the colleges should have earlier outlined procedures regarding the process of answer sheet submission following all safety measures.

It’s not like the college authorities are not trying to control the situation, or want a major outbreak to happen surrounding the submission of answer scripts. If guardians and candidates are unable to understand the gravity of the situation, what can a few teachers do? We have to handle the submission process and other activities, ensure that the results are ready before Durga Puja, and yet the “role of college authorities” is being questioned, and not the civic sense of the public. Is it so that college employees are desperate to get infected voluntarily?

It’s not the fault from college,it’s the general public and the students who have lost it . It’s been almost 8 months now and still government is given its best to safeguard folks but how can we help if people are loosing civic sense.
People will not wear mask until a heavy penalty is imposed on them
