Rajganj, 04th June: Members of Siliguri Unique Foundation felicitated Kalpana Roy, a meritorious student of Rajganj. They visited her house in Selterbari village under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj today and provided financial assistance to her family.
Kalpana’s father Gopal Roy supports his family of four, including his wife and two daughters, by selling ice cream in summer, chaat-ghugni, and sometimes patties in winter. His eldest daughter Kalpana Roy secured 599 marks in her Madhyamik examination from Fulbari High School. She aspires to study further by taking science as her subject, but the financial situation of her family has become a hindrance. Therefore the family had earlier appealed for government support.
A member of the organization, Anoop Basu said that it is commendable that Kalpana, a daughter from an economically backward family in the village, has performed skillfully in the examination by sidestepping her financial troubles.
“Kalpana is an ambitious girl. Every effort will be made by the organization to help her overcome her hurdles and support her,” he added.
