STF recover Cocaine, Yaba tablets worth over Rs 4 crore in Siliguri, two arrested

Siliguri, 21st March: The Special Task Force(STF) of the state police launched operations at the Pradhan Nagar area and arrested two people with cocaine worth Rs 4 crore and yaba tablets worth Rs 10 lakh.


The arrested accused have been identified as Shiv Kumar, a resident of Bihar and M. Natrajan from Tamil Nadu. Apparently, they were living in Manipur and had come to Siliguri to sell the drugs. After receiving a tip-off, the STF officials nabbed the duo from a hotel in Pradhan Nagar, on Saturday night. 04 kgs of cocaine and 20 thousand yaba tablets were recovered from the duo’s bags. Both men along with the seized items were later handed over to the Pradhan Nagar police.

STF (North Bengal) DSP Sudip Bhattacharya said that the accused individuals have been involved in the illegal business for a long time. The drugs were transported from Myanmar via Manipur.
