Kharibari, 27th June: Panitanki BOP jawans of 41st Battalion of SSB arrested two people along with tokay gecko near Doodhgate. Both the accused are said to be residents of Naxalbari.
According to the information, an operation was launched based on a tip-off and the duo was stopped and checked near the said area. During checking, the species was recovered from their possession and were arrested. After necessary action by SSB, both the accused as well as the rescued lizard were handed over to Tukriajhar Forest Department. They were produced in the Siliguri court today.
