Siliguri, 09th October: The Excise Department Bagdogra Circle busted a counterfeit liquor trade in Bagdogra, on Saturday evening.
According to the information received, the team under the leadership of OC Subhash Haldar of Excise Department Bagdogra Circle conducted a campaign in the Halal Jote area of Bagdogra with the help of Bagdogra police. However, the gang members managed to escape the scene.
The Bagdogra Circle Excise Department recovered a huge quantity of spirit, counterfeit liquor, empty bottles and other liquor making materials and a motorbike from the spot.
In this regard, OC Subhash Haldar of Excise Department Bagdogra Circle said that the market value of the recovered spirit is around Rs 2.5 lakh. He added that such operations will continue in the coming days.
