Siliguri, 21st December: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Saumitra Khan’s wife Sujata Mondal Khan joins Trinamool Congress in Kolkata in presence of veteran Trinamool MP Saugata Roy and spokesperson Kunal Ghosh.
Saumitra Khan is serving as the president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and Member of Parliament from Bishnupur in West Bengal.
After joining the TMC, Sujata repeatedly alleged that she did not get the respect she deserved in BJP. She accused her former party of not providing dignity to the worthy people.
Holding a press conference on Monday, Sujata accused Suvendu Adhikari of joining the TMC only for personal gains. She further alleged that people are joining BJP for obtaining the posts of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. She asserted that she joined TMC as the party will give her respect and protection.
The move comes just 48-hours after former TMC heavyweight leader Suvendu Adhikari along with several MLAs and MPs joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah’s rally at Midnapore College Ground. on Saturday.
