Siliguri, 09th August: A goods-laden lorry overturned after allegedly losing control in the Khudiram Pally area near Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass late night on Saturday, leaving the driver’s wife and a child injured.
According to reports, the lorry suddenly lost control and overturned by the roadside. The driver’s wife and a child were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident and sustained serious injuries.
Hearing the loud crash, local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the injured. They were subsequently taken to a nearby nursing home for treatment.
The accident also caused partial damage to a nearby shop, while a house narrowly escaped major damage.
After being alerted, police from the Ashighar outpost reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The damaged lorry was later recovered and taken to the outpost.
