Siliguri, 08th August: Siliguri Police Commissionerate continued its road safety awareness initiatives under Road Safety Week with a special programme organised at a private school in Devidanga on Saturday on the initiative of Siliguri Junction Traffic Guard.
A quiz competition on road safety was organised for school students, with questions focused on traffic rules and safe road use. Students who gave the correct answers were also rewarded by the police.
A free health check-up camp was also organised for the general public, where a large number of people participated and underwent health check-ups.
DCP (Traffic) Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed, ADCP Purnima Sherpa and Junction Traffic Guard IC Ridham Saha, along with other police personnel, were present at the programme.
Police officials said the initiative aimed to increase awareness about road safety, particularly among children and members of the general public.
