Siliguri, 17th September: The Special Operations Group (SOG) and Bhakti Nagar police jointly launched operations and arrested a person with brown sugar worth more than Rs 3 lakh. The arrested accused has been identified as Jameel Aftab.
According to the information received, the team, acting on a tip-off, conducted an operation near Chandal More in Ward No. 43. After searching a youth, a packet containing 250 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession. The market value of the recovered brown sugar is 3 lakh 75 thousand rupees.
The accused has been booked under NDPS Act and produced in Jalpaiguri court today.
