Social activist Madan Bhattacharya provides financial assistance for treatment of ailing woman

Siliguri, 24th August: Shipra Ghosh, a resident of Ward No. 23 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation, had been suffering from a heart ailment for a long time. She recovered with the help of social activist and Trinamool leader Madan Bhattacharya.

Even after undergoing treatment in various government and private hospitals for a long time, Shipra’s illness failed to recover. With her husband Samar Ghosh working in a private association, the family started facing financial crisis especially due to her overbearing medical bills. A few days ago, she was admitted to North Bengal Medical College Hospital, where her health condition deteriorated further.

Upon learning about the matter, social activist Madan Bhattacharya stepped forward and provided financial assistance for her treatment. In addition, he also arranged the state’s Swasthya Sathi scheme and admitted her to Durgapur Mission Hospital. Ghosh returned home yesterday after undergoing surgery. Bhattacharya assured to stay by her side in the future.

Shipra Ghosh said, “I was able to return home today because of Madan Da’s help.”

Madan Bhattacharya said ”Shipra Ghosh lives in my neighbourhood. She is like my elder sister.”
