Malda, 31st July: The CID officials and Bamangola police, on Friday afternoon, launched operations at the Pakuyahat petrol pump area and arrested two smugglers along with 600 grams of snake venom worth 1 crore rupees.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Kalam alias Alam Miya (32) and Masfique Alam (29), residents of the Chand Dara area under South Dinajpur district.
According to police sources, the two accused visited Malda from Gangarampur to smuggle the venom. However, the police and CID officials were successful in getting hold of the accused and seized their vehicle.
