Smuggling wood in ‘Pushpa style’: Belakoba forest range personnel nabs one with wood worth lakhs

Rajganj, 19th July: The craze of south superstar Allu Arjun’s film “Pushpa” over India spread like wildfire. From crazy dialogues to its trending songs and dance moves and amazing action moves, the trend is still being copied throughout the country. Now, apart from trending in reels and over social media, the movie is being copied in the smuggling business as well. The smugglers have been inspired by the idea that is showcased in the movies and thus, copying in their business of smuggling. 


As the smuggling of sandalwood in the milk cart tanker was projected in the story of the movie similarly inspired by the idea, smugglers have used the very same way to run their smuggling business. As this idea was a hit in the movies, but could not see success in reality. The forest department arrested the smuggler with wood worth lakhs of rupees last night. 

Reportedly, a campaign was conducted under the leadership of Ranger Sanjay Dutta of the Belakoba range in the wee hours of Tuesday. During the campaign, the forest personnel apprehended a truck in the Kartoya area of Rajganj on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway. Upon searching the vehicle, the team found timber hidden under the cover of cement sacks. The value of the seized consignment is said to be worth around Rs 20 lakh.


The driver of the truck identified as Mohammad Asrul was arrested on the spot. Reportedly, the truck was being taken from Assam to Kolkata. The accused is said to be produced before the Jalpaiguri court today.
