Siliguri, 14th September: A Kite Festival will be organized on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja under the initiative of the Ward No. 27 Committee of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). The said festival will be held on the 18th of September at the YMA ground located at SMC’s Ward No. 27.
As per reports, citizens from the age group 8 to 80 years can participate in the festival. The festival will commence at 12 pm, during which, free kites will be distributed by the members of the committee. In this regard, Ward Councillor Prasanta Chakraborty stated that the kite festival is being organized on the day of Vishwakarma Puja to revive past memories as many people have forgotten how to fly a kite in the present day.
