Siliguri, 05th June: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) took strict action against property tax defaulters. Strict action has been taken against a person today.
Reportedly, a resident of SMC’s Ward No. 41, had not deposited property tax for a long time resulting in a tax due of over 3 lakh rupees. Notably, even after repeated notice of 5 times, the said person had not deposited the tax. Meanwhile, today, the officials of the Municipal Corporation’s tax department reached his house and seized his property. However, later, upon payment of the tax arrears, the officials released the confiscated property.
