Siliguri, 12th January: High voltage campaigning is going on in the city for the upcoming Siliguri Municipal Corporation elections.
On Wednesday, a senior leader of All India Trinamool Congress and State Minister Ghulam Rabbani campaigned in Siliguri in support of Ward No. 01 candidate Sanjay Pathak.
Meanwhile, addressing the people, Minister Ghulam Rabbani took a jibe at the Central Government as well as CPI (M). He said that at the time of elections, BJP leaders commute daily like a local train in Bengal and mislead the people. "The public has now understood everything," he added.
Meanwhile, he also accused former Siliguri mayor Ashok Bhattacharya of doing politics in the name of development. He urged the people to make Trinamool Congress victorious in the municipal elections so that the city can develop together with the state government.
