Siliguri, 03rd August: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) conducted an anti-encroachment drive in the Tikiapara area, targeting illegally constructed shops. The operation, part of a broader eviction campaign across Siliguri, saw the demolition of all unauthorized structures.
Reportedly, on Saturday morning, SMC officials carried out the eviction in Tikiapara, where a vegetable market had occupied the street. All shops that were illegally located on drainage lines were dismantled. The drive has been ongoing for several days, and sources indicate that it will continue in the coming days.
