Siliguri, 12th March: In the ongoing campaign against unauthorized construction, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) initiated action and demolished the unauthorized construction built in Kalika Apartment of Siliguri’s Ward No. 13 on Tuesday.
According to reports, few years ago, unauthorized constructions were erected in the Kalika Apartment located in Pranami Mandir Road of Ward No. 13. This involved converting the parking area, balcony, and guard room, into a storage facility by adding a tin shed without proper authorization.
Upon receiving a complaint, the SMC sent a notice to Kalika Apartment to demolish the illegally constructed portion. In this regard, the corporation alleged that despite the notice the illegal portion was not yet demolished. Subsequently, the team of the corporation arrived at the apartment with a bulldozer and initiated prompt action.
