SJDA inspected Siliguri College grounds

Siliguri, 23rd November: The Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) inspected the Siliguri College grounds.

Reportedly, the soil being used for the renovation work of the college grounds comprises a large portion of gravel. Upon hearing such allegations, SJDA chairman Vijay Chandra Barman, vice chairman Nantu Pal, and chief executive officer Priyanka Simla arrived at the college on Monday to inspect the grounds. They also talked to the contractors regarding the length of time required to complete the work.

In this context, Vijay Chandra Barman said that earlier too, they had received a complaint in this concern. However, the soil which is being used for the renovation of the college grounds is not used for playgrounds. Therefore, the contractor has been instructed to remove the soil and use good soil.

He further stated that the field will be converted to a cricket ground and then be handed over to the college authorities within three to four months.
