Siliguri, 12th October: Tragedy struck during the immersion of Durga Puja in Dashami when a flash flood incident claimed the lives of many in the Mal River. The sudden disaster claimed the lives of many and took people into its grip.
Many youths present during the time, risked their lives and jumped into the river without any second thought. Upon seeing people drowning and flowing in front of their eyes they put their brave act together and saved many people from losing their lives in the flood. After which the said youths are respected for their valiant act.
Meanwhile, today 11 brave youths of Malbazar were felicitated by Yuva Bharti Club at Gate Bazar. The names of these youths are Mohammad Manik, Manoj Munda, Karthik Munda, Raj Urawan, David Tanti, Om Bhuia, Tariful Islam, Faridul Islam and Sameer Munda. During the felicitation program, the youths narrated the story of the horrific accident. They further said that they will always be ready to help people in the coming future as well.
