Siliguri, 05th July: Pulak Barman and Akash Mallik from Siliguri nailed the North Bengal Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship held in Alipurduar on July 03. Akash Mallik secured the first position in bodybuilding and the ‘Champion of Champions in Fitness’ title. While Pulak Barman secured the second position in bodybuilding. Mahananda Sporting Club’s gym centre coach Pappu Roy expressed joy over the triumph of Akash and Pulak.
After the win, Akash Mallick said that in his early days, he wanted to become a cricketer, but due to financial constraints, he could not pursue his dream. He joined a gym for physical fitness, four years ago, which eventually made him inclined toward bodybuilding. He added that his coach Pappu Roy played a vital role in his victory.
On the other hand, Pulak Barman also dedicated his victory to his coach and said that the coach’s guidance and hard work helped him emerge victorious today. He added that he has been training under Pappu Roy for the last two years. Pulak said that he now aims to become the next Mr India.
