Siliguri, 14th April: The Bhakti Nagar Police arrested a youth, identified as Mujahir Alam for allegedly ignoring the lockdown protocols and playing cricket in Siliguri’s Bhanu Nagar Maidan yesterday.
As per the report, several youths were playing cricket in the Bhanunagar Maidan, on Sunday. The piece of news was also streamed in Siliguri Times, after which, the Bhakti Nagar Police launched an operation and arrested the youth on Monday night.
More cases have also been registered against several lockdown violators on Monday late night. However, the arrested accused was released on bail as per the instructions given by the court.
Mujahir Alam and the few other youths have been charged under the Disaster Management Act. The cases will be presented before the court after the lockdown ends.
