Siliguri, 26th June: The Women’s Police Station of Siliguri Metropolitan Police organised an awareness rally on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, with the objective of promoting a drug-free Siliguri.
Police personnel from the Women’s Police Station, accompanied by children, took out a rally from Venus More to Sevoke More, appealing to the public to help build a drug-free society. The participants carried placards and banners bearing anti-drug messages to spread awareness among residents.
Police officials said that the primary objective of the campaign was to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and guide the younger generation towards a positive path. They also emphasised the need for broader public participation in the fight against drug addiction.
At the conclusion of the rally, the participating children pledged to work towards building a drug-free society and appealed to the public to join the awareness campaign.
