Siliguri, 16th September: In Siliguri, ‘Aarti’ will be held at Mahananda similar to the ‘Ganga Aarti’ in Kolkata under the initiative of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).
As per reports, on Saturday, a meeting was held by the SMC with all the puja organizing committees of Siliguri along with the administrative officials of various departments. During the meeting, several issues related to the Puja were discussed.
During the end of the meeting, the Mayor stated that the city will be decorated before the Durga Puja and plans have also been made for transportation. He added that Mohun Bagan Avenue will be decorated with lights and will be formally inaugurated on 29 September. Furthermore, Mayor Deb stated that ‘Sandhya Aarti’ will be held under the initiative of the Municipal Corporation with an aim to prevent pollution of Mahananda river.
