Siliguri to Darjeeling Toy Train service resumes from today

Siliguri, 25th August: The iconic Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), popularly known as the Darjeeling Toy Train, resumed its services from Siliguri to Darjeeling, on Wednesday. It is to be noted that toy train services were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as landslides in various parts of its route.

The Toy train was flagged off at NJP station today in the presence of Katihar Division DRM Shuvendu Kumar Chowdhury. The train then left for Darjeeling. However, only a handful of tourists were spotted today. Many people were seen on the streets clicking pictures of Toy train.

DRM Shuvendu Kumar Chowdhury said that a number of initiatives will be taken to make the Toy train services attractive and comforting. Reportedly, Jungle Safari will also commence soon. Joy Ride Safari started in Darjeeling a few days ago.
