Siliguri, 28th July: The Siliguri Metropolitan Police’s Tourist Helpline once again proved helpful for travellers after police ensured that a tourist recovered ₹459 that had not been returned by a driver during a journey to Gangtok.
According to reports, Bakul Barman, a resident of Cooch Behar, was travelling from Siliguri to Gangtok on 11th July when he accidentally paid the driver an extra ₹459. The driver allegedly failed to return the excess amount.
Barman lodged a complaint with the Siliguri Metropolitan Police Tourist Helpline on 14th July.
Acting on the complaint, personnel from the Siliguri Junction Traffic Guard promptly investigated the matter and ensured that the tourist received the ₹459 back.
After recovering the amount, Bakul Barman expressed his gratitude to the Siliguri Metropolitan Police. The incident once again highlighted the effectiveness of the Tourist Helpline in assisting travellers and addressing their grievances promptly.
