Siliguri NGOs use reflective collars to save stray dogs from road accidents

Siliguri, 06th April: The Student Society of Siliguri and Islampur Sisters and Brothers Society jointly wore radium belts on stray dogs to protect them from accidents in the dark of night.
On Wednesday, members of the voluntary organizations of Siliguri wore reflective collars on street dogs in various areas including Junction Bus Terminus, Kanchenjunga Stadium, College Para, Payal Cinema Hall and adjoining areas of Siliguri District Hospital. Also, the dogs were also fed on behalf of the organizations.
Bapon Das, social worker and president of Islampur Sisters and Brothers Society, said that street dogs often become victims of road accidents, especially at night. In view of this, the radium belts were worn to save street dogs from accidents.
