Siliguri, 07th July: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation demolished illegal and unauthorized construction at a nursing home near Pakurtala More in Siliguri. Reportedly, cabins and tin sheds were built without permission nor planning passed by the SMC.
Upon being notified, the SMC started an investigation into the matter and issued a notice to the nursing home’s management. Thereafter a case was registered in the High Court, who later directed the SMC to demolish the illegal construction.
In this regard, SMC’s executive engineer A. Banerjee said that the court directed the demolition of illegal houses and tin sheds built in the nursing home. Hence, work is being done as per instructions.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the management of the nursing home, Dr. G. B. Das said that seating arrangements were made for the relatives of the patient. He claimed that after getting the notice from the SMC, the work of demolition started. “We are doing all we can to cooperate,” he added.

Even after repeated objection from our end (as he is our neighbor) he is forcefully constructing his building with 4 storey foundation without Plan Pass and leaving almost no space around the building in such a small land of less than 1 katha land (approx 420 Square feet) only, which is completely illigal.
It’s my humble request, please look into the matter and do the needful so that the people of Siliguri have some faith towards SMC.
