Siliguri Metropolitan Police launches “Free Motor Driving” campaign for women

Siliguri, 11th December: A free motor driving training programme has been initiated on behalf of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police Junction Traffic Guard with the aim of making women self-reliant under the ‘Safe Drive Save Life’ campaign. This is for the first time in Siliguri, where women will be given free driving training. Today, Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma handed over letters of free motor driving training to five youths including five women.


On this occasion, Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma said that no work is small or big. Everyone should get equal rights. The initiative taken by the Junction Traffic Guard to train women to drive free of cost is commendable. During the training, women will be taught full traffic rules and safe driving. However, young men can also take part in the drive.

The trainees appreciated the campaign started by the junction traffic department. They stated that this campaign will help them to become self-reliant.
