Siliguri, 26th March: The Detective Department of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police, based on a tip-off, launched operations at the Fulbari checkpost area and arrested a man along with teakwood worth 30 lakh rupees.
Reportedly, a 12-wheeler truck has also been seized in the incident. The teakwood had been hidden under bundles of bamboo stalks. The truck driver has been arrested. The recovered timber was being smuggled from Meghalaya to Kolkata.
