Siliguri, 2nd March: Dipankar Das has been accused of sexually harassing his daughter. The horrifying news surfaced from the Niranjan Nagar area of Ward No. 36 under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
According to sources, the victim got married 7 months ago but was brought back to the house by Dipankar as her husband did not have a stable job. On the other hand, Dipankar’s wife separated from him 6 months back. As per the victim, her father had been sexually harassing her against her will for a long time. She also accused her grandmother and uncle of beating her whenever she used to oppose the heinous act.
But on Friday night, the horrendous crime finally came to light when the girl, after being sexually molested again, informed her mother about the entire incident. In this context, the victim’s mother lodged a complaint in the Ashighar Police Station. Based on which the police arrested Dipankar, on Sunday night. On the other hand, the locals staged a protest at the police station demanding the arrest of the other three accused of the incident.
