Siliguri Lockdown Impact: Family members of a patient suffering from brain tumor seek help from the government

Siliguri, 13th April: The nation-wide lockdown, which was supposed to end on April 14, was extended to April 30 by the state government after an increase in the number of positive cases.


Since railway and other transport services have been suspended throughout the country in view of the lockdown, a 30-year old man battling a brain tumor for the past 2 years, is supposed to reach Bengaluru for his medical treatment.

As per the report, the patient Sonai Saha is a resident of Baghajatin Colony Siliguri under Ward No. 45 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The family desperately sought help from the administration to help them reach Bengaluru as Sonai urgently requires medical help there.


Sonai’s father Narayan Chandra Saha stated that he had also sold a piece of land earlier to carry out two medical operations of his son, which were fortunately successful. He further added that this is the third time his son needed to be shifted to Bengaluru but the lockdown imposed has ruined all their travel plans.

Therefore, the family asked the State and Central Government to help them reach Bengaluru urgently.
