Siliguri, 28th June: A gold trader, Pradeep Kumar Paul was looted in Siliguri’s Bidhan Road while he was returning to his residence. Allegedly, unidentified bike-borne men snatched his bag and fled away.
Thereafter, nearby traders and residents reached the spot but were too late to catch the thieves. Upon receiving the news, Siliguri Police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.
On the other hand, Siliguri police, DCP Joy Tudu and ACP Shubhendra Kumar reached the spot. Later, Ward No. 12 councillor Basudev Ghosh also arrived to take stock of the situation. Pradeep Kumar Paul stated that there were cash and valuable gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees inside the bag. Police are investigating the incident.
