Siliguri ISKCON Mandir Committee adopts new initiative to fight Corona, to deliver free food to needy families

Siliguri, 08th May: Siliguri ISKCON Mandir Committee has come up with an applauding initiative to help the ones battling with COVID-19. Amid the second wave of the pandemic, a large number of people from the city have been infected with the virus. Several cases are also surfacing where all the members of a family are testing positive for COVID-19. Such families are facing problems getting their groceries and meals.


In view of this, the ISKCON Mandir Committee has decided to distribute free food to such needy families. This service commenced from today itself. Around 50 families of Siliguri shared their problem to the said committee. After this, the committee sent one meal to them.

ISKCON Public Relations Officer Nam Krishna Das said that many people are getting infected at present. There are also reports about two or three members of the same family testing positive. Those families are having trouble arranging food as they cannot go out. In view of this problem, the ISKCON Mandir Committee will provide one-time meals to such needy families free of cost.
