Siliguri: Classes in primary school are being conducted on veranda, and students compelled to sit on the floor

Siliguri, 08th July: It is a sad state of affairs that classes for students of Jyotsnamayee Primary School Ward No. 27 of Siliguri are being conducted on the school veranda for several days. However, this is not due to the shortage of rooms in the school. Such is a scenario because of the dilapidated condition of their classrooms.

Enraged by seeing their children sitting on the veranda and studying, parents and guardians expressed their anguish against the school management. Today some parents entered the school premises and protested. They urged the school management to arrange for more classrooms at the earliest. Allegedly, classes for secondary education are also provided in the same building.

In this regard, the Teacher-in-Charge said that they have not been able to find more rooms and added that the matter has been forwarded to the District School Inspector’s office.
